Cowboy Jean Apron

I designed the pattern for this jean apron in June. In August, it won a Champion ribbon and a special award at the Larimer County Fair. Some of the judge's comments were:

On the selection of pattern and fabric..."Good fabric and combination."
On the thread, stitching, and markings..."Very nice job! Well done!"

The way it attaches around the neck is with a bandanna which is sewed to the top of the apron. The top of the apron has 3 pleats on each side which allow for a more fitted bust. I also put two tucks in lower down to make a more fitted bodice look. 

The sashes that tie in the back are also made out of a bandanna. They are also long enough to be tied in the front like a side-sash. 

There are two pockets in the front and they are shaped like jean-back pockets.  I embroidered an interweaving diamond design on them in red with just like jean pants have designs on their pockets.  I put a ruffle on top of the pockets with the left-over pieces of the red bandanna I cut up for the tie in the back.  This apron is so fun!  Fits smaller sizes best.
